Structural Engineer

I am a Civil Engineer from Νational Τechnical University of Athens, Greece 3rd graduate with degree: 9,24 out of 10 Thesis Title : Analysis of single pile response under lateral loading. Completed my Master Degree at N.T.U.A.: Design and construction of underground structures 1st graduate with degree: 9,71 out of 10 Thesis Title : Effect of Fiberglass Nails and Forepoles on Shallow Tunnel Face Stability. I also have a Michigan University Proficiency in English degree, an Autodesk-Autocad 2D Basic degree, as well as several MOOC's certificates (Introduction to Programming with MATLAB-Vanderbilt, Oil & Gas Industry Operations and Markets-Duke, Municipal Solid Waste Management in Developing Countries-Ecole Polytechnique, Wind Energy-DTU). Experience and overall knowledge over: -Structural engineering -Steel structures -Concrete structures -Masonry and wood structures -Foundation design -Piles design -Autocad 2D -MATLAB programming and applications developing with GUI (like: p-y curves generator, gravity wall design, concrete beam reinforcing, model of soil contamination) -Various structural softwares (ETABS, SAP, Staad.PRO, Idea Statica etc) -Various geotechnical software (Plaxis, Retain, Slide, Phase, etc) -Excellent usage of MS Office I have working experience from ENVECO S.A. (an environmental-engineering office), ASPROFOS S.A. where I was involved in various, industrial mostly, structures design (mostly steel and concrete, but wood and masonry as well), drawing and in situ construction supervision, and, GEOMELETI S.A. (geotechnical office where my team emphasized on the design of retaining walls). Currently I work for ATPL as a Civil Engineer and I am involved on the design of industrial steel structures. More specifically, I took part in the design of the New Naphtha Complex at Motor Oil Hellas refinery and now I am part of the site technical office, supervising the steel-erection & fireproofing activities of the project. I am always excited working alongside experienced engineers and on site contractors; learning from them, completing challenging and innovating projects as part of a team and evolving my field of activities and knowledge. In parallel, I am offering tutoring lessons in Civil Engineering students, in a try to always stay close to my academic roots and also help the younger students apprehend easier and more effectively the core aspects of our profession.
