Automation solutions include eliminating manual and routine tasks from Incidents, Problems and Changes, building reporting and monitoring as well as integrations to other internal systems to drive self-help and selfheal initiatives.This role will sit with Global Technology Infrastructure Services (GTIS) is a team of approximately 4,300 colleagues based in EMEA, US, APAC and Africa. We are accountable for delivering and supporting resilient, secure infrastructure technology and services to customers, clients and colleagues.  The Automation CoE is a global team based in the UK, Whippany & Pune. Our team is at the forefront of transformation, driving the automation agenda across Barclays, accountable for the delivery of Automation solutions across Barclays Group Technology ensuing improvement in  ·         The efficiency of the delivery of automation initiatives·         Leveraging automation IP across group technology·         Driving the re-use of automations to improve consistency  What will you be doing?Develop new automation solutions using strategic engineering and development tools, languages and processes (C#, JavaScript, SQL, IPCenter, PowerShell, Python, Windows, Service Now Participate in projects that seek to automate ITIL processes, including but not limited to Incident, Change, Problem, Provisioning, Capacity, Asset Management with the goal to automate manual effort, increase quality and resilienceProvide operational support for strategic automations and toolsWork with Engineering, Operations, Service Management, Transition, Transformation, GIS and other relevant Barclays technology and/or vendor teams to identify new automation opportunities, define specifications and identify solutionsIdentify bottlenecks and defects in automation code, and design solutions to mitigate and address these issuesFollow Barclays automation, engineering, security, documentation, lifecycle and other processes and best practicesFollow Barclays ITIL and Information Security standards when designing, building and operating automationParticipate in daily Scrum meetings and weekly sprint meetings to coordinate development efforts Document workflow and solutions in Confluence Leverage Jira Agile to track project status  What we’re looking for: ·     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience·     5 years’ professional job experience in software development, automation in infrastructure support organization·    3 years’ experience working under Agile software development methodologies ·    5 years’ experience in C#, Building APIs, Scripting (Shell, JavaScript, or VBS)Skills that will help you in the role: ·         Experience in automation of ITIL processes·         Experience with TSQL and Microsoft SQL Server·         Experience with Python, Node.js·         Experience automating using orchestrator (e.g. IPCenter, MOS)·         Experience working with IIS ·         Experience working with AWS·         Experience working with Microsoft Graph API Where will you be working?At Barclays, we are proud to be redefining the future of finance and here at Whippany we are defining the future of the workplace and the future of the way we work and live.
