The Manager, Sales Strategy – Bayer/Midol develops the Strategic Account Plans for their respective brand that incorporates brand objectives and strategies, and shopper insights to help achieve the brand’s budgeted sales and profit goals. The Manager, Sales Strategy drives the trade strategies and brand sales fundamental plan through the business planning process through partnership with Sales and Marketing to optimize plans that deliver growth for their brand. The Manager, Sales Strategy also serves as a liaison between all internal cross-functional partners to represent their designated brand.YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversees the development of the annual Strategic Account Plans for their designated brand pod, driving Bayer brand business goals in line with customer requirements while leveraging all data sources including consumer/shopper insights and syndicated data. The account plan includes promotional, pricing, distribution, and shelving strategies and tacticsAssists in key sales with the customerServes as the voice of sales and customer with Marketing providing sales perspective and Point Of View and proactively champions/influences sales aspects of key initiatives such as: 4 P’s (promotional, placement, product/ assortment, pricing) timing, trade activation needs, customer response, competitive IntelligenceOversees the development of new item launch strategy and sales communications, including: launch distribution goals, promotional strategies and tactics, shelving objectives, shopper strategies and tactics, pricing objectives, new item launch materials, presenting the new item to the sales organization and customersActs as an organizational advocate to enhance understanding and potential application of shopper engagement, while driving ongoing analysis, research, and evaluation to evolve trade strategiesLeads communication and sharing of best practice learning to Field Sales and Brand ManagementOversees and supports the business planning process for assigned business units; ensures information provided is accurate, on-time, clear, actionable and meets sales and retailer requirementsServes as the internal voice of the customer sales teams and leads/addresses any national or retailer specific strategic opportunities or issues with appropriate cross-functional stakeholders including, but not limited to, marketing, finance, operations/supply and demand planning, project management, I&DServes as liaison with Bayer Research in scoping and fielding shopper researchWHO YOU AREYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required SkillsBachelor’s degree is required (MBA desirable) Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the consumer package goods industryTwo years of Headquarter Trade Marketing Experience preferredTwo years of Field Sales Experience preferredSales experience handling a top account is preferredExcellent financial management skills to critically assess strategic goals and cost investments versus results; ability to streamline operational processesExperience in a basic understanding of brand P&Ls, ROI, and budget managementUnderstanding of the customer and the marketplace: Exceptional knowledge of retailer landscape and how to impact the total marketMust understand the impact of individual decisions to Bayer’s total business and relevant long-term implicationsPrior direct selling leadership experience with a top national retailer and sales strategy or sales operations experience requiredExcellent written and oral communication skillsProven experience in influence managementProven ability to develop win-win solutions to complex situationsRobust analytical capabilities across a variety of data sources and platforms with ability to translate into action-minded recommendationsAdvanced computer literacy skill required, specifically MS Excel and PowerPointRelocation Assistance is availableCountry: United StatesState: New JerseyLocation: WhippanyReference Code: 66357Functional Area:Commercial & SalesEntry Level : Professional
