Roles & Responsibilities:

The Echocardiography Clinical Coordinator performs echocardiograms and exercise stress tests of a non-invasive nature. This individual is expected to maintain a high level of professional expertise to obtain consistent and accurate diagnostic information.

1. Performs echocardiograms and exercise stress tests of a non-invasive nature.

2. Reviews test results with physicians, and makes appropriate documentation.

3. Assists in maintenance of supply inventory and requests all necessary supplies for test area.

4. Participates in the performance and documentation of quality control, quality assurance and improvement activities.

5. Informs appropriate personnel of any equipment failure and documents type of problem and any associated downtime.

6. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment to comply with established infection control and departmental protocols. Operates and cares for testing equipment.

7. Provides patient education related to study.

8. Ensures the safety of patients and family members.

9.Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients, family members and other employees.

10. Performs other related duties

Requirements: Requirements: Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program

None required with appropriate training andregistration; 1-2 years preferred

Issuing Agency: Preferred by the American Registry ofDiagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
