Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a High Performance Computing Programmer.

In this role, the successful candidate EPPIC-Net is a network that will include a Data Coordinating Center (DCC), Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC), and ten Specialized Clinical Centers (SCCs). The DCC will work with Federal government partners to conduct high-quality efficient clinical trials to develop non-addictive treatments for pain as part of the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative. The DCC will provide a range of coordinating services for this NIH-funded network, including statistical and data management; collection of clinical, biomarker and imaging data; and establishment of repositories for biospecimens and biomedical images.
The High Performance Computing Programmer will provide guidance and subject matter expertise for high-performance computing in support of the EPPIC-Net DCC. In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Data Management Leadership, and Biostatistics team, s/he will develop and document the approach for implementing the infrastructure to support the EPPIC-Net DCCs compute-intensive and large capacity data storage needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, document, and update the EPPIC-Net DCCs high-performance store and compute requirements/needs, particularly when new studies are on-boarded.
  • Implement, debug, optimize, and maintain application software stack of EPPIC-Net DCCs HPC infrastructure.
  • Develop, install, and maintain HPC Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs); configure and manage HPC workflow management systems
  • Actively participate in various tiers of customer support, including ticket-based troubleshooting; provide user training and develop user reference materials;
  • Configure common database and associated data elements that will be used to host disparate datasets from studies supported by the DCC; develop data extraction, transformation, and import specifications to facilitate subsequent transfer of study data to the NIH Strides platform.
  • Configure systems to support self-service data extraction and reporting for EPPIC-Net DCCs collaborators and partners; assist in managing transfers of data from hubs/sites to EPPIC-Net DCC
  • Maintain security of the EPPIC-Net DCCs HPC systems; deploy updates to HPC infrastructure, as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Typically requires 4 or more years of experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding of backup technologies; experience in evaluating, architecting, and managing cloud environments like AWS, Google cloud Environment, Azure; familiarity with active directory services and disaster recovery of systems and under-pinning technologies and dependent systems, including authentication and remote access technologies.
