90 person investment management firm in midtown is seeking a top-notch Desktop Support Analyst who has some Systems and Server Admin experience. Firm is stable and offers excellent benefits. You will be one of two people responsible for supporting the entire firm.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Provide White-glove support to executives and general staff
Assist with server upgrades, patching, systems deployment, etc.
Set up, deploy and manage new desktops, laptops, and servers
IT Inventory management
Report and remediate faults and maintain system logs.
Telecommunications support, including phone and wireless system maintenance
Training staff and associates on existing and new software and hardware
Documenting issues in internal knowledge base and ensuring that documented processes are followed correctly
Position Details:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with the following:
Handheld devices including Android, iPhone/iPad
Server administration including user management, permissioning, etc.
Upgrading software and systems within planned downtime windows
Upgrading device firmware as needed (routers, switches, UCS) either through vendor documentation or working with outside assistance
Identifying and responding proactively to needs of users
Creating and maintaining documentation
Interfacing with high-profile executives
Building, refining, or adhering to business processes to ensure a consistent user experience
Packaging and deploying operating systems, applications, and patches
Group policy deployment and troubleshooting
VMWare ESX and Horizon
Disaster recovery concepts
This position requires knowledge of:
Hardware deployment and troubleshooting
Inventory and license management
Microsoft Windows and Office (current versions)
Printer and print queue maintenance
Exchange (High Availability)
Solarwinds Patch Manager (or similar)
Data Backup techniques
AirWatch or similar MDM
This position requires basic knowledge of:
Avaya phone system administration
Firewall management including rules, ACLs, NAT
Messaging archival (Metalogix or equivalent)
Office 365 setup and administration
SharePoint Administration/Migration
EMC, UCS, VMWare (VSphere and View)
5+ years professional experience in IT Support.
Experience in small to medium-scale environments (under 100 people) preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree (information technology or related field preferred)
Commitment to delivering timely and professional service to executives
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to complete projects on time
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be a service-oriented, team-player eager to respond to requests and assist colleagues at all levels
Demonstrated strong organizational skills and exercises attention to detail
